Internal Medicine Physician & Nephrologist
Dr. Aflatooni received his bachelor’s degree in both Mathematics and Music from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993. Dr. Aflatooni completed his medical degree at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1997. He finished his residency in Internal Medicine at Baystate Medical Center at the Tufts University School of Medicine in 2000. In 2002, Dr. Aflatooni completed his fellowship in Nephrology at the George Washington University School of Medicine.
Additionally, Dr. Aflatooni has experience working as an inpatient Internal Medicine physician at the Southern Maryland Hospital Center and the Providence Everett Medical Center Hospital.
In addition to his clinical experience, Dr. Aflatooni designed and taught medical courses for international college students, Chinese medical students, nurses, and physicians at Tianjin Medical University.
Dr. Aflatooni is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology and is a licensed physician in the state of Washington. His special interests include kidney diseases (including kidney stones, medical evaluation of kidney stone patients, glomerular diseases, and nephritis), evaluation of hypertension (including resistant and difficult-to-treat hypertension), nutrition, preventive medicine, and dietary interventions to treat internal medicine and kidney problems.
